We went to Wedowee for a visit and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that we were having babies. When we got there, the first momma had just had her last one (she birthed three). This weekend, there happened to be four mommas in labor. I was priveledged enough to assist in midwifing the mommas by comforting them and letting them rest their heads in my lap while they were having their contractions. I also was in charge of getting the babies out to exercise their legs the day after they were born. Shane was the delivery doctor. The first momma gave birth Friday afternoon, the last momma gave birth Sunday morning - a long weekend of labor. It was a fun experience. A dirty, messy, nasty experience, but fun nonetheless. At the end of the weekend, we had nine babies! And boy was I tired.
