My Best Friend’s Wedding…
unlike the movies, i didn’t try to run off with the bride or groom. although, she looked so gorgeous, the thought crossed my mind! anyhow, lots of pix below the fold…
the day started with about four hours of girly primping. the bride got the full treatment – hair, makeup, nails – while her friend and i served her and got manis/pedis for ourselves.
when we finally got back to the house, it was a mad dash to get the bride dressed and ready and then to get some makeup and clothes on ourselves. since there had been no rehearsal, there was quite a bit of confusion about what was actually supposed to happen but it all worked out and the ceremony was beautiful. they even had a box for jenny to stand on so that she could look her groom in the eyes.
it was wonderful to see jenny so happy. the whole day she was glowing. this is my favorite photo. you can really see the love.
jenny’s friend, tiffany, took care of the decorating and pretty much ran the show. she did a fabulous job!!!
after being told all day that she needed to eat because she wouldn’t get a chance to eat at the wedding, jenny was fed up. she swore that she would not miss out on the food that she had so carefully chosen and paid for. before we left, i told her how amazing all of the food was (truly, the food was absolutely fantastic!) and she grumbled that she wouldn’t know. poor girl. i tried to warn her! at least she managed to get a little bite of steak…
there was a tossing of the bouquet but no garter belt.
everybody gathered around when there was word of cake on the horizon.
before we left, i realized that i had been so busy running around making sure that jenny had everything she needed that i didn’t even get any pix of me and hubby all dressed up. we quickly remedied that. i also wish that i had pix of just me and jenny. i think there were a couple “professional” ones taken before the ceremony so i hope i can get one of those. i’ve gotten several compliments on the dress i was wearing. i really love this dress and will absolutely get to wear it again. i’m so glad that jenny didn’t put me in some fuschia puffy mess with bows all over it (though it was her right to do so).
i was so honored to be a part of jenny and scott’s big day. i wish them all the best in their lifelong, happy marriage!
